 Romy Coomans-Uitdehaag

Romy Coomans-Uitdehaag (*Breda 1989) studied at University College Roosevelt (2007-2010) and took a Major in Arts & Humanities with a main focus on musicology and vocal performance. She graduated with honors in 2010.  In the same year she auditioned and was accepted as student at the Codarts Conservatory, Rotterdam, but she also applied for the Complete Vocal Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark, and when she was accepted despite her young age (i.e. 21, the official minimum age being 25), she left the conservatory in order to continue her studies in Copenhagen.  In recognition of her exceptional talents she received two scholarships – one from the Prins Bernhard Cultuur Fonds and one from the Fonds Podium Kunsten – for further studies abroad.  She aims to specialize as CVT vocal coach / instructor.
Besides teaching, Romy performs with several bands in different genres and performs weekly, both within the Netherlands and abroad. She composes her own music and sold one of her songs to the well-known producer Tjeerd Oosterhuis. She is a frequently asked studio vocalist and in 2007 one of the many sessions was noted in the top40.
As a session vocalist and voice actress she worked for:
  • DEMP
  • Walt Disney
  • Nickelodeon
  • Efteling
  • U-trax (game industry)
  • Hoek&Sonepouse (movies & series)
  • Diverse commercials
