 ACC 210 - Methods & Statistics II


This course consists of two parts. In the first part the most commonly used statistical models are introduced: multivariate regression, factor analysis, (multivariate) analysis of (co)variance, and logistic regression. Furthermore, attention is paid to non-parametric tests. Students learn to apply these models to data using SPSS program. In addition students learn to deal with problems that may occur whenever statistical models are used. The following topics are discussed: model assumptions, multiple hypotheses and power, cross-validation, causality and missing data. At the end of the course students are able to determine which statistical model should be used to investigate different types of research questions. Furthermore, the students are able to execute the corresponding analyses and write a complete report in conforming to APA guidelines.
